Malen bedeutet: Mit einem Mal, einem Zeichen versehen, im Geist entwerfen, färben. Malen ist eine Zeichensprache meist farbiger Natur, die einen geistigen Akt voraus setzt. Musizieren bedeutet, Fantasien zu imaginieren und visualisieren.

Durch Kurse mit professionellen Malern erkannte Caren Cunst, dass der abstrakte Expressionismus ihre Welt des Ausdrucks ist. Der besondere Reiz des “Expressionistischen“ liegt für Caren Cunst darin, von jedem Betrachter dessen Interpretation zu hören. Manchmal ist diese ähnlich oder aber völlig anders und unerwartet. Für Caren Cunst ist dieses unterschiedliche Empfinden und die Interpretation eines Bildes die geistige Kraft, die Kunst ausmacht und immer wiederholenden Antrieb gibt, Neues zu schaffen.
